A Deleted Scene from Timepiece

It’s trick or treat time and Myra’s treating all of us today to a deleted scene from Timepiece. She originally made this video available earlier this year during a chat with Young Adult Book Central(YABC). But now, we can all view it on her blog. Hurry, hurry this treat is a good one and hey, it’s zero calories.

Vote for Timepiece in hypable’s Best Books of Summer 2012 Poll

Such an awesome list put together by hypable, and guess what? Yes! Timpiece is on there. So hurry over and vote for Timepiece and four more of your favorite books. The poll will run until September 2nd.

I can hardly wait to see which books hypable readers loved this summer. Hmmm, I may have to add more to my reading list.

VOYA Interview with Myra

This Sunday, VOYA interviewed Myra as part of their “Wouldn’t You Like to Know” author interview feature.

You will have to head over to VOYA’s website and read the entire interview where they ask detailed questions about her background and about each of the books, Hourglass and Timepiece. But one piece of information caught my eye and that was Myra’s answer to the imaginary casting question:

SH: In a perfect world, one in which you have complete casting control of the Hourglass movie, who would you want to play the key characters?

MM: Em – Britt Robertson

Michael – Joe Manganiello, via reverse aging (Or, maybe we can use a wormhole bridge or the TARDIS and go back in time and borrow a younger version of Joe? Because otherwise, creepy.)

Lily – Selena Gomez

Kaleb – Chris Zylka

Cat – Zoe Saldana

Landers – Ryan Gosling (ENTIRELY SELFISH)

Liam – Jeffery Dean Morgan

Thomas – Jensen Ackles

Dru – Me, obvs.

Obviously! No one else could play Dru better. I think we all love Myra a little more because of her honesty, humor and just her adorable factor…gargoyles in the kitchen?!?!

Timepiece Teaser #7

Now this quote leads to lots of questions.  I mean who is the girl who is taking care of her??

Gah!! So many questions.

“She’s just mad. Don’t worry about it. You don’t need to take care of her. I will.”

Timepiece Teaser #6

This one gives a little insight into Kaleb, can’t imagine who he is talking with.

There wasn’t really any good way to tell a girl I’d never seen before that my dad had recently come back from the dead, my mom was in a coma, and that an entire battalion of Civil War soldiers had appeared on my front porch that very afternoon.

Hourglass Recap Chapter 54

Chapter 54 Jack reveals to Michael and Emerson how he stole Grace’s memories; he would take her memories as she thought of them.

Quote: “When she has nothing left to live for, there was a handful of prescription sleeping pills right there.” He laughed. (page 366, Hourglass)

Jack then confesses that he not only stole Grace’s memories but also Ava’s and Emerson’s. Jack tells Emerson that she was the sole survivor of the bus crash that killed her parents. He goes on to explain how he went back in time and stopped her from getting on the bus. He did this to prevent her physical injuries and he hoped that this would help her come out of her depression faster.

Emerson’s realizes from everything that Jack’saying that even small things like the scholarship to the boarding school were part of his plan. Jack admits that he was traveling too often and that he ran out of the compound and ended up stuck on the bridge.

Cat insists that the Q and A session is over and her gun goes off, shattering the glass doors on a bookcase. The action begins to heat up as Michael reminds Jack that his traveling and changing things has effected the space-time continuum. Jack threatens Em with the return of her most painful memories if she doesn’t hand over the disc containing the formula for the matter. Em refuses and Jack begins to torture her with the most vivid memories of the bus crash, her parents’ funeral and her own shock treatment.

Michael begs for Jack to stop and Jack takes back all the memories as a show of his power. Emerson hands Jack the disc and he and Cat leave. Immediately, Michael wants to let Liam know that Jack is out of the bridge and has the disc when Em tells him that he has another disc — the one for Kaleb’s emotion control medicine.

Timepiece Teaser #5

Are you ready for day 5!! This one is a serious one and slightly scary. Check it out and tell us what you think!

There’s no Novikov Principle for a slit throat.

Hourglass Recap Chapter 53

Chapter 53    Cat pushes Em into Michael’s arms and continues to point the gun at them. Em sees that Jack is there with them. Jack tells them that he “piggybacked on Emerson’s gene” and returned through the veil with her. (page 362) It becomes obvious to both Michael and Em that Cat and Jack are together. Michael questions Cat’s motivation.

Quote: “Because Jack and I could do more together than we could apart. Because sitting on the sidelines for all those years made me sick.” (page 363, Hourglass)

Cat reveals their entire plan to Michael and Emerson. Liam’s research into Cat’s DNA led him to develop a formula for exotic matter. Ava used her power to move the matter and destroy the lab and Liam. This was all done because Jack wanted the ability to time travel. He tried to convince Grace to help him and when she refused and connected him to Liam’s death, Jack used his own power against her. Grace never tried to commit suicide, her memories were stolen by Jack.

Timepiece Teaser #4

Today’s teaser brings out the more serious side of things.

“You could chase the circles of consequence for days. If this had happened, then this wouldn’t have. Vice-versa. It’s mind boggling.”

Wonder what kind of consequences they could be talking about? Any ideas?
